Munich Brauhaus

45 South Wharf Promenade, South Wharf
http://www.munichbrauhaus.com

It's Melbourne's newest 900 seater Beer hall so if you love your beer and traditional Bavarian food such schnitzels, pork knuckle, sausages and strudels then Munich Brauhaus is for you. It's a little hard to find and you definitely have to have some patience, but once you do find it, it's totally worth it!

The staff were knowledgeable / friendly and could speak authentic german. I think throughout the night we had about 4 different wait staff who regularly asked us how we were and wheather or not we needed anything. Oh and apparently they were pretty hot too.

Service was also sehr gut - aka very good!

There was an excellent range of beers and wine to choose from. Great schnapps and cocktails to.. Staff were also pretty helpfull when it came to selecting which beer we'd like. No garnishes or flowers this time round, but a stein is always good, cause after all, we were in a beer hall. Did I mention they also have a daily happy from 4 - 6pm including $6 half litres :)

Oh and too bad if you don't like German music. The band started up around 6pm which made it difficult to hear each other when trying to talk over dinner.. However I can imagine, after a litre or two of beer, it would become a lot of fun ...

Final Verdict  - The Gletshscreis Schapps at 50% alcohol is def worth a try!! In the words of our waiter - that'll get your party started!
